Passports
To enter Montenegro, your passport must be issued within the last 10 years and its expiry date extends at least three (3) months beyond your planned departure from Montenegro. EU nationals can enter Montenegro with a valid ID for stays up to 30 days.
Visas
Citizens of the following countries can enter Montenegro without a visa. The length of stay depends on one's nationality and the document used to enter. For example, EU nationals can stay up to 90 days with a passport, while entry with a national ID card allows stays of up to 30 days.
EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
Other visa-exempt countries: Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Moldova, Monaco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vatican City.
Types and Cost
Short-stay visa (Type C): €60.
Long-stay visa (Type D): €70.
Validity
Short-stay visa (Type C) and long-stay visa (Type D) are usually valid for up to 12 months.

Apply at the nearest Montenegrin embassy or consulate in your country of residence.
Working days
Allow five to 15 working days, depending on the embassy and the applicant's nationality.
Extension of stay
For stays of more than 90 days, you must apply for a temporary residence permit several weeks before the 90-day period expires.
