Passports

To enter Mongolia, your passport must be valid for at least six month after the date you arrive.

Visas

Nationals from many countries can visit Mongolia without a visa for tourism purposes, including those listed in the chart above.

Mongolia periodically updates its visa policies to encourage tourism, so visitors are advised to check the official website at evisa.mn/en before travelling.

Types and Cost

Mongolia issues short-term visa (K2), border visa (K3), and transit visa (K6) to tourists. Fees vary depending on one's nationality and where the application is being processed.

Transit

Nationals transiting via train can apply for a single- or double-entry transit visa.

Working days

Visa processing takes two to five days.

Extension of stay

Tourists may apply for an extension at the Immigration Agency of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar.
